The Crank Kit came promptly, and all the parts were there. The directions included with the package were absolutely terrible. The picture/drawing/diagram was impossible to understand. Fortunately, I had already watched the FiberBuilt YouTube Video on replacing the Crank system. I was able to replace the Crank with the help of the video and it looks and works great. My suggestion is to put a link to the video in the instruction package.
We ordered this replacement crank kit in error (our error, not the company's) and didn't realize until we had unwrapped it. Dawn in customer service was very helpful and agreed we could send it back. Upon inspection (a reasonable requirement) they refunded this purchase. next time I need an umbrella, I'm going to this company for sure!
The kit of had a lot of parts I didn’t need, but nice to have. I got the crank handle /axel to work fine. It has a spring compression that puts a drag on the axel, preventing the umbrella from closing. Worked well for me.
As noted in my title. I have had this same Fiberbuilt umbrella for 14 years and the only reason I am replacing is because of the the fading of the hunter green umbrella. The material and tilt mechanism are still in perfect shape. Other than getting a no tilt on the first shipment, which the company replaced quickly with the tilt one I had ordered, I hope it will be as long lasting.
We live on the water in Hilton Head Island and there is always a breeze sometimes strong. So far the umbrella has stayed upright. Good product.
Emailed about a replacement crank, had a reply with the link for the part I needed within minutes. delivery was as promised. Very happy

I recently purchased a new patio set for my condo and wanted something with a punch to set it off. I searched so many places but nothing was sticking until I came across Fiberbuilt umbrellas. I am pleased. This replaces a broken crank of the same design in a Home Depot Hampton Bay 9' umbrella. Easy installation.
After a lot of research we came across Fiberbuilt umbrellas and we are very impressed with the quality of the umbrella!
Searched internationally for a crank handle for a vintage Southern Butterfly umbrella. No one had one, nor knew how to help. I found this particular model and it works perfectly. Since it was not a compatible umbrella for the crank, I had to make a few modifications in order for it to fit. Was not able to use the cover plates, but the mechanism works fine.

After having wind destroy several cheaper umbrellas, I decided to go with the pros. Money well spent. This is a quality umbrella, from the marine quality canvas to the sturdy post and operating system. Just get one and enjoy the outdoors!
